My journey with God began unexpectedly during my school days, when I first experienced His presence in my life. However, due to my parents’ objections, I had no opportunity to attend church or receive proper guidance in my faith. Without support or encouragement, and being preoccupied with school activities, I gradually lost the desire to learn more about Christianity. As the years went by and life went smoothly, I drifted further away from God. After getting married and becoming busy raising two children, my spiritual life took a backseat.
My sister Siew Eng’s encouragement to bring my son to Sunday School rekindled my interest in Christianity. However, it was not until my daughter fell critically ill with pneumonia that I cried out to God in desperation. Miraculously, after six weeks in hospital, she recovered. Despite this wonderful experience of God’s healing, I distanced myself from God again, consumed by hectic workload and personal pursuits.
Yet, God remained faithful, watching over me through various incidents and experiences, but it was until the year 2021, when my sister invited me to attend TOLCC’s 13th anniversary service, that I decided to sincerely recommit my life to God. Only then did I realize how much my life lacked true security, peace, and inner comfort without God. It is through this awakening that I have come to understand God’s unfailing love and mercy. I now recognise that I am a sinner saved by His grace, and not by my own strength or goodness, but through His boundless compassion and forgiveness. He has been with me in every step of my life, even when I was unaware of His guidance.
I am deeply grateful for His presence in my life, and I am committed to deepen and nurture my relationship with Him. Throughout these four years of worshipping at TOLCC, today I stand to testify God’s unwavering faithfulness. No longer overwhelmed by worries about tomorrow, I’ve learned to rely on His goodness and sovereignty. Each day, I am reminded to be thankful for His grace, mercy, and provision. Through His love, I have learned to be more forgiving, to extend kindness, and to reflect on the mercy He has shown me. I am grateful for the journey that led me back to Him, and I am committed to walk in His light and trust in His goodness in every step of my life.
Today, I stand here with a thankful heart, acknowledging that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I thank God for His unfailing love and for bringing me back to Him.
