Pastoral Letters are weekly communications from our church pastor to the congregation.  They are mostly original reflections on the Word of God in response to church events or current affairs, local or beyond, with the primary intent to exhort Christians to live rightly before God in the real world.  Short bibliographies are sometimes featured towards the same end.

We pray that these writings will be a great blessing to you!

Unity in Sharing the Gospel

The Apostle Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” (Romans 1:16).  Every Christian who genuinely follows the Lord can testify to the truth of this...

Be Kind to One Another

On one Saturday afternoon, my neighbour who is an elderly man came to visit me at my hostel.  He was very gentle and polite.  He is an architect in charge of a construction project in the University of Cape Town.  In the course of my conversation with him, he told...

How Lovely Is Your Dwelling Place

I send you greetings from Cape Town.  Except for a washing machine that leaks out water and I had to hand wash my clothes, I am happily settled down.  The washing was pretty easy and thank God that the sun came out and I could dry my clothes.  My residence...

Serving God in the New Year

I was very pleased to see so many coming forward to serve during last Sunday’s dedication service. The ages of people who are serving in at least one ministry this year range from 12 years old to above 70 years old. While some are more conversant in the Chinese language,...

Spiritual Exercises

The Apostle Paul says: “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come” (1Tim 4:8).  Physical training builds up the physical strength and stamina of an athlete so that he wins a prize. ...
