Pastoral Letters are weekly communications from our church pastor to the congregation.  They are mostly original reflections on the Word of God in response to church events or current affairs, local or beyond, with the primary intent to exhort Christians to live rightly before God in the real world.  Short bibliographies are sometimes featured towards the same end.

We pray that these writings will be a great blessing to you!

Devotion to God

I wrote last week that one of the highest praises a Christian can receive is to be called a godly person.  Jerry Bridges, the author of “Practice of Godliness” reminds us that godliness is a result of a devotion to God.  This devotion to God comes from a desire for...

Devotion to God

The Chinese and English cell groups have been studying (and analysing!) the book written by Jerry Bridges, “The Practice of Godliness.”  The author correctly comments: “There is no higher compliment that can be paid to a Christian than to call him a godly person.  He might be a conscientious parent,...

The Four Spokes of a Christian Life

There are four things that every Christian must do.  They are God’s Word, prayer, fellowship, and evangelism.  A Christian organisation, Navigators, picture these four things as four spokes that support a wheel.  This wheel will then be able to turn smoothly without collapsing.  First, God’s Word.  “All Scripture is God-breathed...
