The members’ AGM is a critical event and every TOLCC member must attend it. If you have yet to become a member, we also welcome your participation as we need all at this meeting, be it member or not, to have a thorough understanding of the church’s ministries and their purposes. When all fervently participate, God’s gospel will surely prosper.
To successfully spread the gospel by just relying on the efforts of a small group of people, or the leaders to do their job is not enough. We do not depend brothers and sisters in the Lord who are older in the faith, or those who are spiritually matured to do the evangelism work. The apostle Paul praised the believers in Philippi in Philippians 1:3-5, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” We remember Paul as God’s faithful and entrusted servant who put in numerous evangelism efforts. Yet, he recognizes the fervency of the Philippians in preaching the gospel. He commends them for their united effort in support of his gospel ministry. It is noteworthy that Paul regards the Philippians to be working in unity with him since their very beginning of faith in Christ. And even though the Philippians are new believers in Christ, they are already very passionate and eager to spread the Gospel. Tree of Life Christian Church is still a sapling and there are many brothers and sisters who are new believers too. May apostle Paul’s words encourage and move us not to underestimate ourselves but to share the gospel of God. In fact, this is what we should do: never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord (Romans 12:11).
With this, please do attend the members’ AGM on the 23rd of March and participate in the church ministry. In fact, our brothers and sisters have been attending the past AGMs readily, with close to a 100% attendance. We hope to maintain the records. What’s more important than attendance is that our members are truly united in participation and advancing the works of evangelism. Let’s pray that the AGM and the election would proceed smoothly and in accordance with God’s will. Do read the annual reports to have a better prior understanding. Give some thought to the church ministries and bring along your suggestions. We look forward to seeing you at the 2014 Annual General Meeting!
