How wonderful is God’s love? “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom 5:8): A mother might die for her son, a husband for her wife but for will that same mother or husband die for a stranger who is a murderer or rapist? I think no one would do such a thing. This, however, is precisely what our Lord Jesus Christ did: He suffered and died for unworthy people, sinners like you and me. Your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ willingly suffered and died to save you, so that you will not perish in hell for eternity and so that you can today enjoy eternal life. Are you worthy? No, we all know how sinful we are—we are unworthy. For that reason, we must now stop living for ourselves but live our lives to please your Saviour who gave His life to you. We must now live and do the things that please our Saviour. What pleases Him most? It is when sinners turn away from sin in true repentance and receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour and enjoy eternal life.

For that reason, we must be fervent and give our best to preach the gospel. Thus Paul says: “Christ’s love compels me” (2 Cor 5:14): It compels him to preach the gospel even if it means that he has to pay with his life to do that. Perhaps you do not believe what Christ has done for you?. . It is, however, a fact that your Lord Jesus has given you His life. How then can you not do the thing that pleases Him?

On 2^nd September 2011 (Friday), we will be having our annual gospel rally. The speaker will preach a gospel message. This meeting is especially for non-Christians. What can you do? The church choir will start training on 10^th July 2011 for a total of eight sessions. Thank God for providing us a qualified voice trainer. If you have received Jesus as Lord and Saviour and this is the only criterion, you are eligible to join the choir. Songs and hymns prepare hearts to receive God’s word and salvation.

The most important thing that you must do is to invite friends who are still outside God’s kingdom. To do that, you must do several things. First, you must start praying today. When God works in a person’s heart, that person will come and all obstacles that come from Satan will be removed. Think about whom you want to invite, then if you would like the church to pray for them, give the names to Deacon Xing Guo who will put up the names for prayer during the church prayer meeting: “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).

Second, be a good testimony. If you have not kept in touch with some people, call them soon. Care for them and love them. Let them see Christ in you by your love and conduct. Then, by God’s grace, God will move them to come.

Third, be present. Mark this date out. Our church is not big. We need people on that day to welcome and care for new friends. We need more voices and people to participate in the worship service to enrich the worship ambience. Just your presence alone is an encouragement to all. Above all, please pray for the speaker and hearts to be receptive to the gospel of salvation. If you love the Lord, bring lost souls into His kingdom.
