First, we will have our regular gospel Sundays with choir presentations and people to share their testimony of salvation. Gospel Sundays will be held roughly on a three-monthly basis, the approaching one being on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Second, besides other activities, fellowship groups will also discuss topics that will equip us for sharing or defending the Christian faith. The Evergreen will read and discuss the book “A Biblical Approach to Chinese Traditions and Beliefs” written by Daniel Tong.
The other cell groups and fellowship groups will read and discuss the book “The New Evidence that Demands a Verdict” written by Josh McDowell. Third, we are in the process of interviewing some members of the church as to what helped them bring people to church. We will show these video clips during and discuss questions that will help us reach out to our friends and relatives. If we have more time, we will also hold a training session as to how we can share the gospel using a piece of paper and pen, or a book of colours. Let work hard to bring eternal life to lost souls. They need Jesus.
Besides evangelising to the lost, we must also grow spiritually by being grounded in God’s word: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim 3:16-17). We will study special topics on the fourth Sunday of some months. During those Sunday, worship will be combined at 9:30am so that these classes can be taught at 11:30am-1pm. Many of these topics will alert you to harmful errors that are affecting many churches, including, “The Charismatic Movement,” “Calvinism [correct teaching] and Arminianism [wrong teaching]: The Error of Prevenient Grace,” “Wealth, Health, Prosperity Gospel.” Then we will not be deceived by false teachers, false teachings, and false churches: “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful teaching” (Eph 4:14). The special topic “Hermeneutics: Interpreting the Bible” will teach you how to read the Bible so that you can understand and interpret God’s word for yourself. Please attend for your soul’s sake and for the souls of people whom you are leading or teaching. These will help you grow spiritually as Christians. Then when the Lord returns to judge us, because we have grown in holiness and in the Lord’s likeness, we will receive his praise and reward that last eternally.
