The Fellowship of the Believers

Act 2:42

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Pastor reminded us during our church committee meeting that the early Christians spent a considerable amount of time in learning at the feet of the apostles, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer.

These were critical to church growth and God was pleased and blessed the church with many souls being saved.

In the same way, for our church growth, we should focus on God’s word, fellowship and prayer.

Our church has a strong pulpit and Sunday school ministry, which expound on God’s word during our Sunday morning worship.

Sunday school teachers teach God’s word through the Sunday school.

Our church has many fellowships for both the elderly, adults, youth, teens and children.

We also have our regular weekly and pre worship prayer.

May I strongly encourage you to be early and diligent, to be consistent in attending Sunday worship, Sunday school, prayer meeting and fellowship.

Besides the regular cell groups, our church leaders make special effort to organise church fellowship.

May I strongly encourage you to stay for the lunch fellowships organised by the church. It is often very challenging to cater food to meet your needs, but graciously partake of the lunch so that we can have sweet fellowship especially with the other congregation.

May we as a church be strong in doctrine, fellowship and prayer just as the Christians were during the time of the apostle.

When the church is faithful in these aspects, God will use us to save lost souls and thus add to the numbers in church.

I remember once when I was doing the long distance swim and nearing the completion of the course. I was tired and weary towards the end. It was then that I heard the encouragement from the organisers. This spurred me on to complete the remaining last leg of 50 metres of the gruesome and tiring swim.

In like manner, life is tough, and oftentimes, being a Christian is tougher than being a non-Christian. Hence, we will need genuine godly Christian love and fellowship to encourage each other in completing our Christian race.

From 2018, we will have a bi-monthly lunch fellowship at the church level. It is our prayer that you would make an effort to stay back not just for the food but more for building strong bonds with fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord. Then we can show love, care and concern, and uphold each other to run our Christian race.
