Receive Jesus’ Resurrection Life

About two thousand years ago, the Lord Jesus Christ died for us sinners to take away God’s wrath on us. We human beings have done wrong and sinned in what we think, say and do. We have sinned against the Holy God. God’s wrath is on us. Hence, in this life, we experience no real peace and satisfaction. We feel empty in our hearts. We are dead in our hearts. But more frightening is the warning from God that we will be punished for eternity in hell. If we can hear the people in hell speak, you will hear them cry out to you: “Do not come to this place of eternal torture!”

But we thank and praise the Lord. God loves us so much that He sent God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ to die for us. We deserve to die, but Jesus took our place by dying for us. Jesus has washed away all our sins. He is our Saviour.

Three days later, he rose from the dead. Jesus is risen! Hallelujah! Hence, we are not afraid of death, the greatest enemy of mankind. Death has been defeated once and for all by Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Whoever is willing to believe in Jesus, He gives them eternal life and heaven.

But how are we to face this world that is filled with so suffering? We can be victorious because God gives us Jesus’ resurrection life when we receive Him as our Saviour.

First, when we suffer for God’ sake, you will know and experience Christ’s resurrection power: “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead” (Phil 3:10-11).

Second, for that reason, we do not need to feel discouraged despite the tears, the anxiety and the hardship in life—we can press on with life confidently: “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead” (Phil 3:12-13).

Third, dear fellow Christian, press on because the end of your life journey is an eternal prize. And the greatest prize is this: you will obtain and experience life, the abundant and overflowing life of the Lord Jesus Christ in its infinite fullness. So, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Phi 3:14).

Are you going through sufferings? Are you being persecuted for your Christian faith? Is your service to the Lord sometimes unnoticed and unappreciated? Are you trying your best to be faithful to God but your faithfulness comes at a price, that requires you to suffer?  Take heart. You are not going through suffering alone because the greater the suffering, the fuller is Jesus’ resurrection power that will be demonstrated in your life. His power is greatest your suffering is greatest. You may go through much sufferings but you will emerge unscathed. Therefore, focus on Jesus. Press on for Him.

Dear Friend, is Jesus your Saviour? You will face death one day. Where are you going after you die? This is a most serious and the most important question. Jesus has conquered death. Ask Jesus to be your Saviour today. Tell Him: “Jesus, I am a sinner. Please become my Saviour and the Lord of my life today.” You will experience the resurrection life of Jesus, the eternal and abundant life.
