Death can be scary because when death sets in, a happy family is destroyed. It is scary because you have to walk this path on your own: no matter how much your wife or husband loves you, no matter how much your children love you, none of them can accompany you down that path. You must face it alone. It is scary because you do not know where you are going: what if that place is a place of eternal torture, loneliness and suffering? Death is scary. But we thank and praise God. Jesus died and has risen from the dead. His resurrection implies at least several things.

There is Another World after Death

That Jesus died but lives again proves that life does not end at death. There is another world after death which you will go. The bible clearly tells you that that world is either a world of eternal torture called hell or eternal life and joy called heaven. Where you spend eternity depends on your decision whilst on earth. If you choose to believe in Jesus, that is, ask Him to be your Saviour and Lord of your life, Jesus will take away your all your sins, the sins you committed last time andalso the sins you will commit in future. You will receive eternal life from the moment you ask Jesus to be your Saviour and Lord. Then the moment your life on earth ends, you will start your life in heaven.

Jesus Has Conquered Death

Jesus rose from the dead. More importantly, after he has risen, he puts on a completely new body that will never die, feel tired or fall sick. It is an eternal new body. This proves that Jesus has conquered death. No one in history has done that. Only Jesus has truly risen from the dead and will never die again. The bible says: “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ” (1 Cor 15:22‐23). In other words, just as when you see that some fruits have ripened, you know that more will follow. Similarly, Jesus has resurrected. You who believe in Jesus will also rise from the dead and live forever.

Dear children of God, Christians, you need not fear death because Jesus has conquered death. Death opens the door to heaven. Is your body full of sickness or do you wish you had a better physical body? One day, you will obtain a new body that is perfect and that will never die or fall sick. It is a resurrected body.

Dear friends who are not yet Christians, death comes anytime. You must be prepared because if you die without Jesus as your Saviour, there is no second chance for you to believe in Him after you die. Hence, seize the opportunity. Today is the day of your salvation that you can enjoy eternal life. Will you lose anything? No, you will only throw away things that will harm you and gain things, including eternal life, which are good for you for eternity. Jesus loves you. That is why He died on the cross to save you. Believe in Jesus and be saved for eternity.
