Gospel Rally 1 (Fri) & 2 (Sat) September

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matt 28:18-20).

By faith, our church obeyed God’s command. We held two nights of gospel rally. The first night was conducted in Chinese while the second was in English. We thank God for His faithfulness and for keeping His promise – He was with us and saw us through the two nights of gospel rally.

In the weeks leading to the gospel rally, our church prayed unceasingly during our church weekly prayer meetings. We must not be slack or take for granted what God provides. Indeed, we have been found faithful. We prayed for what it took to hold the gospel rallies – speaker, choir, chairman, pianists, teachers for the children, helpers, sharing of testimony, invitation cards, invited guests, and the smooth running of the gospel meet.

Thank God the invitation card was very beautifully designed. We were able to put the English and Chinese invitations in one card. We did not have to worry about which card to send. The church was so zealous in distributing the cards so much so that we needed a reprint of the invitation cards. Technology has also served us well – we even had a soft copy for distribution through Whatsapp and WeChat.

Pastor preached on the topic “Heaven and Hell” from a different perspective.  He showed that the bible is amazingly accurate and is God-inspired.  It includes facts like the ship-builders ratio of 6:1 taken from Gen 6:15 – “The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high.” And again, the fact that the earth was suspended in space was written about 3,500 years before the discovery by NASA.  We also saw how the prophecy in Ezekiel 26 was fulfilled accurately in history.  We can go on listing many instances on how the bible is proven to be factually correct in science, archaeology, history, and prophecy. The gospel of salvation, and the existence of heaven and hell, were indeed powerfully and persuasively preached from the pulpit.

We are sure this message is well received by the guests, of whom many are teens who invited their friends from schools and the army. They are able to relate easily to the facts presented.  Indeed, it is evidence that demands a verdict.

God is faithful in other ways too.  The pianist played in tandem with the choir, and the choir sang with almost heavenly voices.  We are very much encouraged not just by the choir, but also by the choir master, and the senior pastor from Pasir Panjang Christ Church who commissioned their choir to minister powerfully at the gospel rally.  We thank God for the “borrowed” choir, so that we were able to unite and bring the gospel to our loved ones, family, and friends.

Many youths brought their friends and family.  We even saw a family of five coming from the gospel outreach at Bukit Batok Residents Corner.  The hard work of all is bearing fruit.  Let us continue our good work in the gospel outreach.  Our labour in the LORD has not been in vain.

We must also not forget the little ones who were entrusted into our care.  The ministry of two sisters to the children has come to fruition.  At least three children have expressed interest in attending the children’s Sunday School.

We will continue to pray for the salvation of our loved ones and friends who attended the gospel and the many whom we invited but did not attend.  Five persons prayed the sinner’s prayer and accepted Jesus Christ to be their saviour during the gospel rally.  The seed has been sown.  “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:10).  We rejoice that our Almighty God has not given up on us sinners, and deem it fit to save these precious souls, and we will continue to rejoice in future when God touches the lives of all who have come.
