The people you often meet, including your classmates, good friends, and family members, have you told them the good news (gospel) so that they can receive eternal life by receiving Jesus as Saviour? You have a responsibility to tell them about Jesus. Do you pray regularly for them that God will soften their hearts so that they will accept Jesus?
One of the things the church will do to build this church culture is this: starting April during Sunday worship service, once a month, anyone who wishes to share their experience in gospel work may do so. You may want to share how someone brought you to church or to the Lord. You may also tell us about how you shared the gospel with someone. You can also explain how you brought someone to church or to the Lord. The objective is to motivate us to actively share the gospel to people around us. Through what you say, we may also learn some things we can do to bring people to the Lord or to church. We can also pick up some lessons about how to best share the gospel.
We urge all to come forward to share. But before you can share, you will need to write down what you wish to say so that you can just read from your script. The church leaders will read through what you have written so as to ensure that the content is appropriate for sharing. You will be given not more than 3 minutes so share. The content can be as simple as: “Yesterday, I shared the gospel with my classmate” and a few other details. It may be as short as 1 minute.
We urge everyone to come forward to share. The Lord can use your simple 1-3 minutes sharing to encourage people. Perhaps after what you share, others may realise that sharing the gospel is not that difficult. They may also learn something from you.
The Bible exhorts us, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrew 10:24). May leaders (church committee, Sunday School teachers, fellowship mentors) also be fervent in sharing the gospel so that you can be an example and encouragement to your sheep. May every Christian in this church also help and encourage each other to share the gospel, especially with our loved ones and friends. The Lord loves the world: “Instead He is patient with you [and the whole world], not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Pet 3:9). Let us feel our Lord’s desire: He desires all to receive salvation and not perish in hell. We must preach the gospel.
