Whoever Believes Has Eternal Life Now
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life” (John 5:24).
This verse underlines several important truths. First, “Whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me” means simply that he receives Jesus as Saviour. Second, at the moment a person believes in Jesus, several things happen. 1.This person “has eternal life,” that is, he receives and enjoys eternal life immediately. A Christian does not need to wait until he dies before he receives and enjoy eternal life. The word “eternal” means never ending. Hence, the moment a person receives eternal life, he owns eternal life forever. He cannot lose salvation. 2. After that Christian dies, when he faces God, God will not judge so as to condemn him to eternal punishment for any sin that he committed during his life on earth. This means also that the moment a person believes in Jesus, every sin in his entire life, that is, the sins he committed before and the sins he will commit after he believed in Jesus have all been forgiven. In God’s eyes, he is justified, that is, he is regarded as a fully holy person without sin. 3. He “has crossed over from death to life,” that is, the moment he believes in Jesus, he immediately escapes death and receives eternal life.
Jesus Will Not Lose God’s Children
It is not possible for a Christian to lose his salvation because Jesus will not lose any of God’s children: “All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away … And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day” (John 6:37-39).
First, if you want Jesus to save you so that you obtain eternal life, that is, you desire Him to be your Saviour, Jesus will not reject you. Second, when you have received Jesus as Saviour, the Lord Jesus will ensure that you resurrect from the dead with a body that will never die, sin or fall sick. It will be a new body that nothing can hurt or destroy. You will live forever with eternal joy. In other words, the almighty Lord Jesus who loves you till eternity will ensure that you receive salvation in its fullness including heaven.
The Lord Jesus is merciful. Regardless of your social or educational status, He loves you unconditionally so much so that He died on the cruel cross for your sins to save you.

It is frightening to die without Jesus as your Saviour because you will be punished for your sins in hell for eternity. Therefore, be wise: “Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labour on what does not satisfy?” (Isaiah 55:2). If you look to Jesus, He gives you eternal and abundant life. You will be fully satisfied. Hence, today, you must turn away from sin and repent and receive Jesus sincerely as your Lord and Saviour. Dear Christian, be assured. Jesus has given you eternal life and heaven. You will never lose it. Hence, love Him with all your heart. Live a holy life. Serve Him faithfully.
