Why do we urge people to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ?  If we can hear the people in hell speak, you might hear them call out: “Do not come here.  It’s a place of great suffering!”  The Bible has always been proven amazingly accurate in so many things, whether it is in matters related to science, archeology, prophecy, history, geography, the human nature, the spiritual world, etc.  For the reason that the Bible is so amazingly accurate and has never been wrong in anything that it talks about, you must believe what it says about hell.  What does the Bible tell you about hell?

Everyone Will Exist Eternally in Hell or Heaven

We will all die.  After death, you still exist.  But where will you be in eternity?  God’s Word, the Bible says: “Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt” (Daniel 12:2)  After you die, you will either spend eternity in hell or heaven.

Eternity is Determined in This Life

Whether you spend eternity in hell or heaven is decided in this life.  That means that the moment you pass away from this life at death, whether you enter hell or heaven is decided forever.  You do not have another opportunity to receive Jesus as your Saviour that you might enter heaven.  The Bible says: “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).  God will judge your sins.  If there is even one smallest sin in you, you will enter hell.

Hell was Prepared for Satan and His Demons

The Bible says: “Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels’” (Matt 25:41).

Hell is Eternal Conscious Torment

The Bible says: “Throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matt 13:50).  You will be able to feel extreme physical and mental pain.  Furthermore, this pain will never go away—It is an eternal pain: “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life” (Matt 25:46).  If a judge sentences a person to 10 years imprisonment, we despair.  But if the judge sentences you to life imprisonment, we will feel hopeless.  The punishment for any sin is for eternity that will never go away.

Hell Punishes Those Who Reject Christ

Those who reject Jesus Christ and His gospel, God will punish that person in hell: “He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus” (2 Thess 1:8).

If you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, Jesus cleanses you from every sin, past, present and future sins.  You will receive eternal life and heaven.  God will not judge you for your sins anymore: “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life” (John 5:24).  Christians, you must urge your loved ones to believe in Jesus.  Invite them to the gospel rally that they may hear the gospel, not enter hell and receive eternal life.
