I commented that the skit that Adult Fellowship put up was good enough to become a public performance. Their skit was about how three persons who did not cherish their loved ones were one day buried under a heap of rubble when a building collapsed during an earthquake (in Singapore!) It breathed out creativity and more importantly a very important lesson: you may not live beyond tomorrow. Hence, love the people around you and share with them Jesus Christ that they may receive eternal life. Are your loved ones saved in the Lord Jesus? You may not have tomorrow. Hence, start today by praying for them and loving them. Give them Jesus that they may have eternal life.
The first prize went to Evergreen Fellowship. They acted out the real life story of Noah. A fellow judge of the skit performance was, as I also was impressed with their ability to act so well despite their age. Just watching the skit will help you understand the details of the biblical passage in Genesis. Although it was not contemporary, this skit correctly impressed upon me how the obedience of Noah to God’s many commands brought salvation to people in the ark during the great flood. This principle applies today: if you want to live a victorious life, you must be careful to obey God’s every command.
Second, we also had a bible knowledge competition between the three fellowship groups. The questions asked had one focus: to emphasize that Christians must not only read the Bible but also pay attention to important details and to remember them that you may use them in your life when needed. If you put into practice what you read, you are blessed.
We ended with a table tennis competition. We had not expected this last event to take so long. On the hindsight, we could have arranged for each fellowship group to do their selection of teams beforehand and the best teams from each group to compete against each in the finals. Nonetheless, we all enjoyed the friendly matches. I did not realise until that day that so many of them can play the game well. More importantly, it was good fun and fellowship.
I believe and hope that this Church Family Day has deepened our Christian fellowship through the numerous skit practices and that day’s events. More importantly, let’s continue to love, comfort and encourage each other graciously and sincerely because “love never fails … and now these three remain: faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is love” (1 Cor 13:8-13).
